What we do

Your cupboard, posted to where you live now

Kettleworth’s is a shop built around one narrow job: getting British cupboard groceries to people who have moved abroad.

Not a general store that happens to stock a few British lines — the whole range is chosen for the things people say they miss. The range is ambient: cupboard groceries, tea and coffee, biscuits, baking, spreads, tinned and jarred food, and the household bits you cannot find abroad. We do not send anything chilled or frozen.

The price you see is the price you pay. Shipping and duties are included at checkout. Nothing is collected on your doorstep, and there is no customs invoice a fortnight later.

Why Kettleworth’s

Most of this isn’t on the shelf where you live

That is the whole idea. We buy it here, where it is on the shelf, and post it to you there, where it isn’t.

  1. 01

    The actual brand

Everything we send is the real product, bought in the UK. Not a local version with a different recipe, and not a substitute chosen because it was cheaper that week.

  2. 02

    The British recipe

The same formulation you grew up with. Familiar brands are often reformulated for other markets — different sweetener, different flour, different taste.

  3. 03

    Things that never travelled

Plenty of British cupboard staples have no distributor where you are. If it reached a British shelf, we can usually get it to you.

From our shelf to your door

What happens after you order

Ordering food from another continent is a leap of faith. Here is exactly what the parcel does, so none of it is a surprise.

  1. Step 01

    You order

The total at checkout is the total. Shipping and any duty for your country are already in it, so nothing else falls due later.

  2. Step 02

    We pick it in Stoke-on-Trent

Picked by hand from our own unit — the same building the stock sits in, not a third party you never hear from.

  3. Step 03

    Packed for the distance

Glass jars and crushable boxes are packed for a long journey, not a short one. Food travels worse than most things people post.

  4. Step 04

Customs is handled before it flies

The paperwork and the duty are dealt with at our end. This is the part people have been caught out by before, which is why we would rather be plain about it.

  5. Step 05

    Tracked the whole way

You can follow it from our door to yours. Delivery times vary by country, so we publish them per destination rather than quoting one number that would be wrong for most people.

  6. Step 06

It arrives — and if it’s wrong, we fix it

You have 30 days to arrange a return. Tell us straight away if anything is missing or damaged; where a return is right, we send a prepaid label. Food that has been opened is the one thing we cannot take back.
