What is the Vivomer?

Vivomer is a plastic-free biomaterial, tha't's an s an alternative to conventional plastic packaging. Vivomer is produced by microorganisms through a fermentation process using renewable plant-based feedstocks (waste biomass).

What happens when I dispose of it?

If you have a home compost, place it in your compost bin. Microorganisms consume the material and convert it into natural substances such as water, carbon dioxide and biomass, rather than leaving plastic fragments behind.

Is this actually plastic free?

Yes. Vivomer contains no conventional plastic and is designed to biodegrade naturally without leaving microplastics behind.

Will it dissolve if it gets wet?

No. Vivomer is designed to withstand normal everyday use, including humidity and occasional splashes. It only begins to biodegrade when exposed to naturally occurring microorganisms found in compost or soil.

Why is this better than recycled plastic?

Recycled plastic is still plastic and can eventually contribute to microplastic pollution. Vivomer is designed to biodegrade naturally without leaving persistent plastic behind.
